The importance of getting out of our comfort zone

If you ask me how many times I have experienced fear throughout the course of my lifespan, a natural emotion that guides us through life, helps us feel sheltered when faced with adversity. I would tell you, I have lost count. In the past, while being in my comfort zone, moments of fear have grasped control of my life in many ways….

During my 200HR YTT (2020) I was faced with fear in many ways, “I can’t do it”- “this is too hard”- “I am so scarred” - “ I will have another panic attack”- “If I fail the voice inside my head will be right” etc. If I had given fear the lead and not stepped outside of my comfort zone, this content would be blank. The importance of me continuing my journey and being available for others, would have came to an end mid-practice, and I would be back at the drawing board, contemplating life’s direction, and my purpose once again.

We all have work to do, some more than others, and others not as much, but we are all in a path to somewhere, with obstacles, handicaps, even a blurry vision. But to be clear, the beauty of your story is not going to continue to evolve if we do not step out side of our comfort zone, with grace, patience, and dedication if we do not allow room for growth.

I am now able to instantly connect to the foundations of my yoga and meditation practice. One of them being Satya, truth and essence in thought, speech, and action because I allowed myself to face my fears, step out of my comfort zone, and connect with my truth.
